The rich lands of San Marzano sul Sarno in the Campania region, near Naples is the home of the San Marzano tomato. Don’t be fooled by fake imitators that use the  name. True San Marzano tomatoes have the D.O.P. Certification which assure that it is in fact this special breed of tomatoes which grow on the very special volcanic soil near mount Vesuvius.
